Little, Too Late The Me-262 was the first operational jet fighter in the world. Unfortunately, it took too long to develop, was too temperamental and hard to maintain; and it was never used properly by the German High Command. Nevertheless, it would be a major worry to B-24's such as this in the closing days of the war. |
