Civil War and Historical Art To
the Lost Ford
When Union Colonel Abel Streight raided
north Alabama, with his men mounted on mules, Bedford Forrest whipped him
repeatedly. Finally Streight, thinking himself safe after retreating
over Black Creek, and burning the bridge after him. He didn't count
on 16 year old Emma Sanson, who led Forrest to a little known ford.
Forrest caught up with Streight, and captured the whole bunch.
