"Prince", Richard Taylor, brought his Louisiana troops to join
Jackson in the Shenandoah Valley. They marched in as their band
played a waltz. After the music ended, the dour Jackson
remarked: "Thoughtless fellows for serious work." He soon changed his mind after seeing the Louisianan's in battle. |
