In the deep winter of 1944, the Luftwaffe's JG-5 was stationed in Petsamo, Finland.
Their Me-109's were essential in protecting German shipping in the far north.  Their proximity to the Soviets on the Eastern Front ensured harassment.  Here, the Squadron is shown scrambling into the air as their field is attacked by the Red Air Force.
