| Military Aviation Art On 26 March, 2003,the 173rd Airborne Brigade was inserted into Iraq to establish a northern front. The Skysoldiers were chosen as US ground forces outside of Turkey were not being allowed to move through the country to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 173rd answered the call preventing six Iraqi Divisions from moving south to reinforce Baghdad. |
