An ancient art, even in the 18th Century, tattoos are applied to this Delaware warrior.  Each design, each mark, has a special meaning to this Native...something that happened to him or a spiritual symbol.  All in all, it tells the story of his life.  While popular in the early 1700's, the use of tattoos waned within the Delaware tribe in the second half of the century.
