the Way The Halifax was one of the four engined bombers flown by the Brits, but it was vastly inferior to the Lancaster. Many were relegated to the job of "Pathfinder". The Pathfinder squadrons were made up of Mosquitos (who dropped flares on the target at sundown, when they still had good visibility) and heavy bombers, such as the Halifax (who dropped incendiaries around the flares), setting up the target for the following bomber raids. |
