Blackbeard, no kidding, was a real guy. His real name was Edward Teach, a somewhat less than respectable offspring of a respected English family. After his services were no longer required by the British Navy after Queen Anne's War, he chose to go into business for himself. He is shown here, off the Virginia coast, going into his last battle against his former employers. He lost. |
